Introduction to Vegetable Gardening - an Overview of Seed Starting to Harvest Storage

Are you new to vegetable gardening?  This class covers all the basic to getting started while best utilizing what your property has to offer.

Eating From the Garden

Learning to best utilize the foods that will grow in your particular Pacific Northwest garden involves a paradigm shift.  This class will discuss what is harvestable when and how to create dishes that maximize the produce you've worked so hard to grow.  Sometimes, this involves learning how to prepare foods not typically available at your local grocery.  The class will touch on permaculture techniques that work more with foraging than the arduous planting and harvesting.

Edible Landscaping Class or Tour

Yes you can have an attractive landscape that is very productive!

·         Basic concept – Using edibles in conjunction with ornaments to create an attractive and useful landscape. Look for places to include edibles and complementary plantings that attract beneficials and aid the soil.

·         Determine basic shape & purpose of plant – screen, shade

·         Determine constraints – water, deer, accessibility, light
